CertiPUR-USCarpenter Co. continually applies new technologies and the highest standards of quality for cushioning products. The CertiPUR-US® certification gives customers the assurance that their focus remains on quality, performance, comfort and environment. Their sleep research facility and comfort scientists use the most sophisticated technology to create new materials that give you a restorative night's sleep.

Future Foam

Future Foam developed the HARVEST® line of foam products, which utilize a blend of natural oil (such as Soy) polyol and conventional polyols. This benefits farmers looking for new markets for the crops they grow. Best of all, HARVEST® brand foam performs as well as conventional foam, allowing consumers to contribute to the farm economy and environment
without any sacrifice of comfort.

We realize the importance of protecting the environment and we work hard with others in the industry to minimize any effect we might have on it. The use of polyol made from natural renewable oils is one way that we can help the environment. Polyol, made from natural oil such as soy-based, helps the environment in the following ways:

  • The use of natural oil polyols reduces our dependency on petrochemicals and lowers green house gas emissions.
  • Recent life cycle analysis calculations show that using 44,000 pounds of natural oil polyol can create a 271,000 pound reduction in carbon footprint.
  • The majority of soybeans farmed in the US use sustainable farming practices.
  • Today, 95% of farmers participate in the USDA sustainability program.
  • Natural oil polyols are produced from rapidly renewable resources.

CertiPUR-USFuture Foam's headquarters, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is in the middle of the agricultural heartland of America. The use of renewable natural oil resources can help to improve the economic conditions of rural communities.

Future Foam has successfully completed independent product evaluation and analysis procedures, and has achieved CertiPUR-US® certification.

Eco Initiative

Post Consumer Recycled Steel Coils

Southern Lady's innerspring mattresses contain coil systems from Leggett & Platt, who uses 95% recycled steel in their mattress coil manufacturing process. Close to a million tons of recycled scrap steel are used in the manufacturing of Leggett & Platt products each year.

Natural Coverings

Southern Lady uses organic bamboo and cotton coverings for our mattresses. Not only do these components optimize comfort...they are also highly renewable resources.
